Frank releases 'Nostalgia, ULTRA'
Frank Ocean has self-released his debut mixtape Nostalgia, ULTRA. The Odd Future crooner signed with Def Jam in 2009, but the relationship between Frank and the label hasn't been particularly solid.
In 2010, Frank joined Odd Future, a group of young hip-hop newcomers led by Tyler, The Creator. He first appeared on Domo Genesis' song "SteamRoller" from their album Rolling Papers. It was during this time that he recorded the mixtape, which samples music from Coldplay, Radiohead, MGMT, Mr. Hudson, and The Eagles.
