Following months of rumors and trademark registrations, Frank Ocean has launched a new luxury brand called Homer.
According to a press release, the brand’s name represents “carving history into stone.” The collection itself will comprise of “fine and high jewelry pieces, plus printed silk scarves. The pieces are handcrafted using 18K gold, recycled sterling silver, hand-painted enamel, and American lab-grown diamonds.”
Interested buyers can request a catalog at the brand’s website. The catalog’s cover and photography was shot by Frank Ocean with campaign imagery shot by Nikes music video director, Tyrone Lebon. Purchases, however, can only be made by store appointment at their singular location at 70-74 Bowery, New York, NY. The cover model is Selena Forrest.
The items were designed by Homer in New York City and handmade in Italy. Diamonds come from Homer’s state-of-the-art lab in America. Design inspiration stems from “childhood obsessions” and “heritage as a fantasy.”
Frank had this to say on his Instagram account:
Hand on my heart, this project has kept my mind moving and my imagination turning throughout it all. All of my work now is dedicated to my family. Everything. My hope is to make things that last, that are hard to destroy, set it in stone. I'm so fucking happy for everyone involved and I admire you and am proud of you and couldn't have done it without you. A.P, Michael, Nile, Allie, Tone (happy birthday!!), Evan, Tracy, David, Tommy, Juliana, Charlie, Jake, Ysham, Keisha the whole house. Everybody who came to California when we had no lights and no water and no chairs or desks and built this all from nothing with me. I wanna say thank you for believing in my vision and taking a part in this story from the bottom of my heart. This is 3 years in the making and there is so so much I'm excited to share with all you strangers. Love.
According to Financial Times, a new interview with Frank will be published tomorrow, 8/7 in their luxury lifestyle magazine, How To Spend It. Frank has posted photos by Jesse Gouveia from the publication on his Instagram.
