Frank Ocean performs “Forrest Gump” at ‘55th Grammy Awards’
After winning two Grammy awards for Channel Orange and his work on Watch The Throne, Frank was also featured as a performer during the back-half of the ceremony, playing “Forrest Gump.”
The performance was accompanied by a muli-layered video screen transposed in front of and behind Frank, which gave the illusion of his running while performing the song. This of course, acting as an homage to the namesake character Forrest Gump.
Reaction to the performance was mixed as Frank was off-key during the performance, due to a malfunction with his in-ear monitors. Rehearsals in the days prior to the awards went well. Footage of one such rehearsal can be seen below.
