Frank Ocean releases new single “Novacane”

Frank Ocean has released “Novacane” as a single from the forthcoming re-release of Nostalgia, Ultra as an EP through Def Jam. The mixtape version, which contains samples that didn't get cleared for sale, was released in February. Frank made it clear that the label wasn't behind him after signing, but they sure seem to be paying attention now.

Following its music video debut, the song is now the second digital single released through Def Jam from Ocean’s debut project, Nostalgia Ultra.
The production is Def Jam’s second video adaptation from Ocean’s debut project, Nostalgia Ultra, which he released independently last February. It features direction by Nabil Elderkin.
The mixtape features another reused beat from fellow Odd Future member Tyler, The Creator.

Ocean shared the tape on Tumblr. It samples music from Coldplay, Radiohead, MGMT, Mr. Hudson, and The Eagles.
