Frank Ocean changes website to ‘blonded.co’
blonded.co
Frank Ocean has updated the domain name of his website from boysdontcry.co to blonded.co. The new handle coincides with the release of his latest single, “Chanel”—the first track put out by his independent record label Blonded, formerly known as Fresh Produce or by its imprint Boys Don’t Cry. The change also follows the launch of his Apple Music online radio program, Blonded Radio, on February 24. The old domain now redirects to the new web address.
Ocean first launched his site, frankocean.com, on February 16, 2011, following the release of his debut project Nostalgia, Ultra. For several years, it functioned solely as a mirror of his Tumblr feed. That changed on April 7, 2015, when Ocean posted a Tumblr announcement about his follow-up to Channel Orange, then known as Boys Don’t Cry, and the site adopted its current layout. Ocean later updated the domain name to boysdontcry.co on August 1, 2015, which lasted until its most recent change to blonded.co on March 10, 2017.
The site maintains the same layout as before. Several features were added following the release of Endless and Blonde in August 2016, including a clock, mailing list, and sidebar menu to filter text, audio, video, and photo posts on the site. A Shopify login and shopping cart were also installed after the Black Friday reissue of Blonde and Boys Don’t Cry in December 2016.
