In a 24-second clip posted to his Instagram story today, Frank Ocean is seen dancing in a recording studio while listening to an unreleased track. The video appears to be captured from Ocean’s phone as he reviews footage shot inside the facility on a laptop. The unknown song playing in the studio features drums, synthesizers, and Ocean’s vocals, although the words are hard to make out amid his cheers and laughter at seeing himself dance.
At the top of the computer screen, the video’s filename is partially visible and reads “…AUSTIN/MIAMI STUDIO.prproj,” suggesting it was filmed in Texas or Florida. The file extension indicates the clip is a part of a project file for Adobe Premiere Pro, a video editing application.
Ocean may have originally captured the video to document the recording process of his music project currently in the works, for reference or use in later media productions, or simply to play back later for fans as a sneak peek of what is to come. The snippet follows another teaser posted to his Instagram story last month, in November 2023, which featured one minute of an unreleased song, unofficially known as “Boundaries/Younger Self.”
