Frank Ocean teases new project titled ‘The Future of the World’

A month after making his Instagram profile public, Frank Ocean posted a cryptic photo that seems to foreshadow an upcoming project. The image shows a pile of white T-shirts with black, uppercase lettering across the front that reads:
THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD
Below the phrase is the logo of Ocean’s music label and merch company, Blonded, along with a partially obscured year—likely 2019. The photo appears to be captured inside Ocean’s New York City apartment, based on the furniture. Incidentally, a copy of the 1977 book Stranger to Himself by Joseph Hansen is also visible on an end table.
Exactly what “The Future of the World” entails is unclear, but the possibilities include the title of a tour, live event, album, single, Blonded Radio slogan, or another creative endeavor that Ocean will likely unveil to the world in the future.
Update 2019–2025:
On October 17, 2019, Frank Ocean debuted PrEP+, a three-part club night series hosted in the basement of the Knockdown Center in New York City. Ocean described the event in a press release, stating:
PrEP+ is the first in a series of nights; an ongoing safe space made to bring people together and dance. PrEP+ will welcome globally celebrated DJs. PrEP+ welcomes everyone.
Invited guests could RSVP online via blonded.world using an access code distributed by Ocean and the events’ DJs. At the venue, club staff checked IDs at the door and reportedly stamped attendees’ hands with the phrase, “Future of the World.”

Flyers made for all three PrEP+ club nights included the tagline “The World” in graphic lettering. Two days after the first event, Ocean also referenced the flyers’ slogans—“Look at Us, We’re in Love” and “The World”—during episode 008 of his Apple Music online radio program, Blonded Radio. The broadcast featured music interspersed with Ocean’s random musings, including:
[17:06] Look at us, we’re in love. Somehow we found the joy, somehow we fell in love.
[25:30] The whole world is your world, but are you prepared?
More insight into PrEP+ and its connection to “The Future of the World” emerged three years after the club nights’ conclusion. In December 2022, Ocean listed two posters titled “ThinkPad” and “Chairman” for sale on blonded.co. Their designs featured graphics and photos first seen on the PrEP+ flyers. When fans received their orders in January 2023, they discovered a letter from Ocean printed across the back of both posters. In the note, he describes the 2019 club night series in detail and reveals that he had originally planned to expand the format into a worldwide tour, writing:
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, these [Blonded live radio events] were intended to grow from small club events to larger raves across the world.
The letter also implies that Ocean’s world tour would have coincided with the release of additional music singles, much like the tracks premiered at PrEP+. Despite this letter, rumors dating back to 2019 about a supposed “unreleased album titled Look at Us, We’re in Love” continued to circulate online. In September 2025, Ocean responded to a fan’s Instagram post about the alleged project with a comment clarifying the meaning behind the PrEP+ tagline:
For posterity’s sake… ‘Look at Us, We’re in Love’ was an early attempt at a title for my club nights in NYC before I decided on one.
Taking all the details above into consideration, “The Future of the World” was likely an early name or slogan for Frank Ocean’s 2019 club night series, PrEP+, and his canceled 2020 world tour.
In October 2020, blonded.blog received a photo from an anonymous source showing an unreleased Frank Ocean sticker that reads the “Future of the World”—possibly the same logo used to stamp attendees’ hands at PrEP+ (Instagram: @frankoceanography).
