“Little Demon” orders will be replaced with a new unreleased Frank Ocean song
Fans who ordered the “Little Demon” 7-inch single from Blonded in November 2019 have received an email stating that their vinyl will be replaced with a “new, unreleased Frank Ocean song.” The message does not provide a reason for the change, although it may be due to supply chain issues caused by the recent coronavirus outbreak. The other records sold by Blonded late last year—including “Cayendo,” “Dear April,” and “In My Room”—have yet to be delivered but appear unaffected. Customers of the “Little Demon” vinyl who wish to cancel their orders—as opposed to receiving its replacement—may request a refund by February 28th. No action is needed for those satisfied with the change. The full email from Blonded reads:
We are writing to inform you of a change to your purchase of the ‘Little Demon’ 7” from blonded.
‘Little Demon’ will be replaced with a new, unreleased Frank Ocean song.
If you would like to cancel the record from your order, please email customercare@blonded.co with your order number and cancellation request by Friday, February 28th, with refunds available upon receipt of your cancellation. If you wish to keep your order, no action is needed.
Please be assured we will do all we can to make sure you get your shipment as soon as possible.
Best regards, the blonded team.
“Little Demon” premiered at Ocean’s third PrEP+ event on October 31, 2019, when Arca played its B-side remix featuring Skepta. A snippet from the show also appeared in episode 009 of Blonded Radio, which debuted alongside the vinyl’s sale. It remains unclear when “Little Demon” will be officially released.
Update 2020-02-27:
Vinyl shipping dates have been updated on blonded.co: “Cayendo,” “Dear April,” and “In My Room” will commence shipping on March 25th, while the “Little Demon” replacement will ship starting April 3rd.*
*Update 2020-11-10:
After months of delay caused by COVID-19, at least one customer of the “Little Demon” vinyl has received its replacement 7-inch single: an unreleased song titled “These Days.” Side A of the vinyl contains a studio version of the track, while side B is blank. The release date printed on the center label is February 25, 2020—the same day Blonded sent the email to customers about the “Little Demon” replacement.
Update 2020-12-03:
Blonded has refunded all “Little Demon” vinyl orders and shelved the single’s release, alongside its replacement vinyl, “These Days.” Customers were notified via email that the cancellation comes in the wake of the unforeseen “events of this year”—referencing production and fulfillment issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Copies of “These Days” were sent to fewer than ~10 customers before Blonded quickly backtracked and clawed back shipments. Customers who had already received the vinyl were contacted by Blonded and sent a copy of the 2017 Endless LP in return for the 7-inch single.
