Odd Future drops three Frank Ocean T-shirts for his 25th birthday

Odd Future released three T-shirts on its website to celebrate Frank Ocean turning 25 years old on October 28, 2013.
The front of the first, titled “Frank Ocean Back Tee,” has a red-and-blue colorized photo of Ocean by Nabil Elderkin, published in a September 2013 cover shoot and interview for Oyster magazine, issue #103.
The second, titled “Frank Ocean Birthday Tee,” shows an illustration of Ocean with his nose in a Nike sneaker, alongside the caption: “Happy Birthday! Keep doing it…”
The third, titled “Frank Ocean Bimmer Tee,” features the word “Bimmer” on the front, a nickname for the German auto manufacturer BMW and the title of a 2013 Tyler, The Creator track featuring Frank Ocean. On the back of the shirt are three BMW M3 E30 sports cars, Ocean’s favorite model and the same orange vehicle on the cover of his 2011 debut music project, Nostalgia Ultra.

Odd Future re-released Domo Genesis’ 2010 song “SteamRoller,” featuring Frank Ocean and Hodgy Beats, as part of an iTunes compilation titled 12 Odd Future Songs. The project’s cover artwork explains: “These are random Odd Future songs that might be performed at shows for people who don’t dig deeper through the Odd Future catalog.”

The undelivered 7-inch single, sold by Blonded in November 2019, has been stricken by a little demon: the coronavirus. In February 2020, customers were first notified that their orders would be replaced with a new record, later revealed to be Ocean’s unreleased single “These Days.” However, those orders are now being refunded due to supply chain issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ocean is running a get-out-the-vote initiative through his website, blonded.co, and sending previous Blonded customers a free poster and set of postcards to remind friends and family to vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
Blonded notified customers via email that their “Little Demon” 7-inch vinyl, sold in November 2019, will be substituted with an upcoming single. The message does not provide a reason for the change, although it may be due to supply chain issues caused by the recent coronavirus outbreak.

Universal Music Japan released a CD edition of Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange with a special booklet. It features Japanese translations of Ocean’s song lyrics and a foreword by Minako Ikeshiro, a music journalist based in Tokyo. In her note, Ikeshiro captures the zeitgeist surrounding the up-and-coming U.S. artist, both in Japan and abroad.
