Odd Future released a music video for their new song “Oldie,” which arrives with their new album, The OF Tape, Vol. 2. Lance Bangs filmed the impromptu production during a photoshoot by Terry Richardson for XXL magazine’s upcoming May 2012 issue. The YouTube video’s description reads:

At a photoshoot, we said our verses into a camera while this song was playing in the background. Why not release it?

The nearly 11-minute song features a verse by Frank Ocean, who appears in the video alongside fellow OF members and associates, including Taco, Hodgy Beats, Tyler The Creator, L-Boy, Left Brain, Earl Sweatshirt, Mike G, Jasper Dolphin, Domo Genesis, Syd Tha Kyd, Lucas Vercetti, and Na’Kel Smith, as well as OF manager Chris Clancy—whose daughter, Chloe, closes out the audio track with the words “Golf Wang.”

Update 2022-03-18:

On the verge of its tenth anniversary, Patrick Lyons of The Ringer spoke to Tyler, Frank, Earl, and others to reflect on the “Oldie” video shoot. Frank told the reporter:

At the time I was learning how to put together rap verses. That song is one of the first couple verses I ever recorded. […] It was a nice moment, this video, because we were all motivating each other. The atmosphere reminds me of how it feels to be in a room full of musicians where everyone is improvising and for a brief period it’s pure magic. It’s the same rush.
