Frank Ocean released a cover of The Isley Brothers’ 1976 song “(At Your Best) You Are Love” on his Tumblr as a tribute to R&B star Aaliyah on her posthumous 36th birthday. Aaliyah released her own popular rendition of the song in 1994, which Ocean used as the basis for his cover, “You Are Luhh.”

Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001) helped reshape contemporary R&B, pop, and hip-hop music following her breakout 1994 album, Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number, recorded and released when she was only 14. Over the next seven years, she would release two more studio albums, achieve nine Billboard Hot 100 hits, and earn two Grammy nominations before her untimely death. In August 2001, after filming a music video in the Bahamas, Aaliyah boarded an overloaded Cessna that crashed shortly after takeoff, killing her and eight others on board. Aaliyah was 22 years old.

Update 2016-08-19:

A remixed version of “You Are Luhh” has appeared on Frank Ocean’s visual album Endless, retitled to match Aaliyah’s cover, “At Your Best (You Are Love).” The album version includes additional background vocals and instrumentation, including strings by the London Contemporary Orchestra.
