Frank Ocean releases “Pyramids” music video

The surreal, 8-minute video features direction by Nabil Elderkin and a cameo by guitarist John Mayer. Ocean is seen riding a motorcycle through the Mojave Desert and partying at the Las Vegas Strip. The track was the second single from Ocean’s album Channel Orange, released last July.

Frank Ocean performs “Thinkin Bout You” at 2012 MTV Video Music Awards

Frank Ocean delivered an intimate rendition of his song “Thinkin Bout You” at the MTV VMAs in Los Angeles. He was lit by a faux campfire and a starry night sky as he sang the 2012 Channel Orange track among rocks and tall grass decorating the stage. Ocean appeared on the show after receiving three award nominations for his 2011 music video “Swim Good.”

‘Channel Orange’ Japanese translator Minako Ikeshiro pens letter on Frank Ocean

Universal Music Japan released a CD edition of Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange with a special booklet. It features Japanese translations of Ocean’s song lyrics and a foreword by Minako Ikeshiro, a music journalist based in Tokyo. In her note, Ikeshiro captures the zeitgeist surrounding the up-and-coming U.S. artist, both in Japan and abroad.
