Frank Ocean, John Mayer perform “Thinkin Bout You” and “Pyramids” on ‘SNL’

Frank Ocean appeared as the musical guest for the premiere of Saturday Night Live season 38 on NBC, performing two tracks from his debut studio album, Channel Orange, including its lead single “Thinkin Bout You” and an abridged rendition of “Pyramids.” During both songs, he was joined on stage by guitarist John Mayer, who is originally featured in the album version of “Pyramids,” as well as the instrumental “White.” In addition to Mayer, pianist Buddy Ross played a keyboard in the background, alongside two more guitarists and a drummer in the live band.
The SNL set was decorated with arcade machines, matching the video games aesthetics of Channel Orange and its associated artwork. During Mayer’s guitar solo at the end “Pyramids,” Ocean walks over to one of cabinets and pretends to play a game.
Ocean wore his iconic red-and-white bandana and a black Supreme Thunderbird Hockey Jersey.
SNL episode one of season 38 was guest hosted by comedian Seth MacFarlane, who introduces Ocean on stage; South Korean rapper Psy also made an appearance. Watch Frank Ocean and John Mayer perform “Thinkin Bout You” and “Pyramids” live from New York below.
