“Thinkin Bout You” certified RIAA platinum
The Recording Industry Association of America has awarded Frank Ocean his first platinum record for his single “Thinkin Bout You” after it sold one million song units since its release by Island Def Jam on April 17, 2012. The song reached the half-million mark eight months after its debut, receiving RIAA gold certification on December 14, 2012. It took five months to sell another half a million, earning its new plaque on May 9, 2013.
“Thinkin Bout You” served as the lead single for Ocean’s 2012 album Channel Orange, which the RIAA awarded gold on January 30, 2013.

The jazzy instrumental rendition of Frank Ocean’s 2012 track is the third single from Flea’s upcoming solo album Honora. The song is paired with a visualizer by Nespy5euro that tells a story through a series of watercolor and pencil illustrations.
The American television program presented a $600 clue that contestants had to answer in the form of a question: “Who is Frank Ocean?” The man himself later posted the clue card on Tumblr. It is at least the second time that he’s been mentioned on the game show.

Frank Ocean appeared as the musical guest for the premiere of Saturday Night Live season 38 on NBC, performing two tracks from his debut studio album, Channel Orange. He was joined on stage by guitarist John Mayer.

He was lit by a faux campfire and a starry night sky as he sang the 2012 Channel Orange track among rocks and tall grass decorating the stage. Ocean appeared on the show after receiving three award nominations for his 2011 music video “Swim Good.”
Frank Ocean’s debut album Channel Orange was initially set for release on July 16th, but is available now, a full week early on iTunes.
Frank Ocean has released “Thinkin Bout You” through Island Def Jam as the lead single for his forthcoming studio album, expected sometime this year. It arrives 10 months after he first shared his reference track on Tumblr. The song was originally written for Bridget Kelly.
"I think the unfortunate thing is that everyone then saw it as Frank’s record so when mine came out, it was kinda like, wait a minute, she’s covering Frank Ocean’s song. And it was like, not really. Your boy actually demoed my song.
Canadian singer Justin Bieber and aspiring rapper Jaden Smith have covered Frank Ocean’s song “Thinking About You.” The rendition includes original verses by the duo. Ocean wrote the piece for Bridget Kelly, who premiered it as a single in July 2011. Much like Kelly, Ocean previously worked with Bieber as a songwriter.
Ocean posted a new music video for his song “Thinking About You” on Tumblr. The team behind the High 5 Collective directed and released it on their Vimeo. Ocean plays a doctor in the short film.
Before her debut album drops, Kelly has released an acoustic version of “Thinking About Forever.”
